From Viana do Castelo, West Sea is navigating the shipbuilding sector with an order book of €400 million ("full until 2030"), expectations of a 16% increase in revenue this year to €140 million, and the prospect of creating "new opportunities" with the completion this month of a €25 million investment in a new dry dock. "We are talking about a dock that allows larger-draft vessels to enter and should bring a 50% to 100% increase in repair activity, meaning a more balanced revenue split of 60% construction and 40% repair, compared with the current 80% and 20% respectively," says administrator Vítor Figueiredo.
